Our second featured designer is about talented Bulgarian designer Ivan Manolov. Ivan studied a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Technical University Varna Bulgaria (pathway Computer Design in Mechanical Engineering) but it seems he had a serious change of heart and immediately after finishing his studies he started working as a Graphic Designer at Knassar New Media in Denmark. After that until present he works for Affectmedia Varna in Bulgaria.
He has been featured in big publications like the LogoLounge 5 Book and LogoLounge: Master Library Vol. 2 and have been part of the Graphilla Creative Exhibition – Bulgaria.
Ivan’s portfolio is incredibly diverse and you can see his passion for experimental typography and calligraphy coming through in quite a few of his projects. Ivan always seems to find a great “hidden” solution in his Logo design (eg. Affect Media logo – the A and M creates a pencil), which is much more difficult than people think.
The project that Ivan is most famous for online is Playground, which has been featured on many a Corporate Identity blogs. He did wonderfully extensive branding for this project, these are just two samples from the project.
